Your responsibilities will include estimate/quote the cost of manufacturing and parts, installation, and field projects.Scheduling the hours necessary to complete jobs, and work with our team to ensure we meet our commitments and customer expectations.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot problems, experience in a sheet metal/manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create work orders based on customers request in mostly 2D CAD
- Prepare costs and prepare drawings for manufacture via in house processes and standards
- Review all drawings for design constraints, errors and outsourced requirements
- Write up work order/drawing package ready for manufacture
- Monitor status of jobs processed and ensure deadlines are met and communicate with production coordinator
- Consult and communication with project manager, drafter, engineers and clients involved at all levels of a project at time of quote and throughout process where required
- Continuous improvement should be demonstrated at all times
- Create a database of drawing files for use on future jobs and ensure new details are being saved to the database on a JobtoJob basis
Qualifications and Skills:
- Autocad, Solidworks & Nesting Software experience an asset
- Industrial Manufacturing environment experience an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced team environment
- Excellent time management and strong Organizational skills essential
- Honesty, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of structural steel details
- Manufacturing processes (machining, welding, CNC, sheet metal work, laser or waterjet cutting)
- Steel Fabrication or Civil Construction
- Materials handling
- Excel experience an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Organization & planning skills
- Judgement & decision making abilities
- Time Management
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently & take initiative
- Valid driver's license
- Willing to travel and for extended periods of time
- Proficient with Office 365
Experience:
- Applicable work experience will be considered without a secondary diploma/degree
- Compensation to be negotiated based upon experience
Salary:
$24.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
