We seek a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will lead by example and champion ongoing learning and professional development initiatives.

You will also collaborate with faculty to develop and implement effective instructional programs and training initiatives that promote student success and engagement.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative instructional programs and training initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify opportunities for instructional improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor and evaluate instructional programs and initiatives to ensure they are meeting learning objectives and making a positive impact on student success.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty on instructional design best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Stay uptodate with emerging trends and best practices in instructional design, educational technology, and adult learning.
  • Use ADDIE and/or SAM Learning Development Models to plan and create effective learning experiences for faculty
  • Facilitate weekly group and daily individual Q&A sessions with faculty
  • Track participation of faculty in PD sessions as well as completion of onboarding modules
  • Promote and champion the LinkedIn Learning platform by curating and developing custom learning paths for faculty.
  • Actively participate in managing and developing L&D Hub through Learning Management System (Canvas)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in education
  • Additional Learning and Development Certificates will be considered an asset.
  • 23 years of experience, 2 of which are directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above in an academic institution.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, and PDs for audiences with diverse professional backgrounds.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of various Learning Development Models
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and Student Information Systems is desirable.
  • Proficiency in file management and data organization systems. Creating workflows and templates using software such as SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse academic community.
  • Ability to work independently and with various departments and personnel, managing and prioritizing multiple projects with the understanding of broader department and college goals and the context of these projects.
  • Experience with using graphic design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
