The Calian Pharmaceutical Solutions Account Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities with a focus on our technology enabled patient support program business delivered through our proprietary software, Nexi.

The Calian Pharmaceutical Solutions Account Executive is also responsible for managing relationships with all new customers and supporting the operations team in achieving appropriate sales and profitability while exceeding customer service expectations.


What you do:


  • Sales/Business Development/Proposals_
  • Designs and implements sales strategies for patent support programs and Nexi software sales
  • Pipeline management of opportunities through the sales cycle
  • Ongoing development of new relationships with potential clients and partners in their assigned region(s) and sector(s)
  • Manages existing client relationships and works closely with the Pharmaceutical Solutions operational teams
  • Calls on potential and existing clients to identify, qualify and influence their current and prospective needs
  • Promotes Calian's Nexi platform and services as a solution to addressing client needs
  • Champions the renewal of existing client contracts and accounts they manage and influences proposal requirements
  • Review proposals and attend pricing meetings accordingly
  • Leads opportunity specific "Capture Plans" and defines opportunity "win strategies"
  • Uses sales tools and methods according to Calian specified standards and contributes to the development of various sales communications (presentations, proposals etc.) to effectively relate Calian's services to potential customer needs
  • Identifies new business opportunities within the contract and within the client organization
  • Account Management Duties_
  • Maintains strong customer relationships and understands their current and developing requirements
  • Responds in timely fashion to customer inquiries and feedback in courteous and professional manner
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and project progress according to project commitments
  • Supports the maintenance and improvement of gross margin against established targets
  • Seeks additional revenue opportunities on existing contracts
  • General Support_
  • Supports and contributes to the Health Business Unit team, as required
  • Supports and contributes to quarterly forecasts and annual budget development
  • Interacts with HR/Payroll and Divisional Services (Business Administration, Finance, etc.) to facilitate information flow

What you bring:


  • Post-Secondary education
years experience in sales/business development within the pharmaceutical industry, with knowledge of drug development and technology enabled patient support programs

  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceuticals industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, and diligent with CRM tools
  • Experience in leading and contributing to proposals
  • Experience working on sales opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle
  • Experience with pharmaceutical product marketing considered an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset
