Contributes to the overall success of the Physical Threat Intelligence Unit, Corporate Security and Legal & Corporate Affairs in Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standard operating procedures, and guidelines for the practice of geospatial intelligence analysis across Corporate Security globally.
- Conduct and contribute to the analysis of physical and financial threat and risk, stemming from vectors including but not limited to crime, terrorism, conflict, and climate, to Scotiabank assets, operations, and employees across the globe.
- Prepare clear and concise geospatial intelligence reports, briefs, and assessments pertaining to physical and financial threat and risk. Effectively communicate geospatial insights via written and oral briefings to both technical and nontechnical audiences, translating complex information into actionable recommendations for key stakeholders within Corporate Security and across the Bank.
- Collaborate with partners across the Scotiabank enterprise to facilitate information sharing and joint analytical efforts.
- Oversee the acquisition, integration, and maintenance of geospatial data sets to drive accuracy, completeness, relevance, and collaboration across the Bank.
- Implement data governance and quality control measures for geospatial data.
- Stay informed on emerging geospatial technologies and tools; evaluate their suitability for Scotiabank's needs and requirements.
- Lead the implementation of new geospatial technologies to enhance physical and financial risk assessment capabilities. Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness of geospatial workflows for physical and financial threat and risk management.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, Criminal Intelligence, or related/equivalent experience required.
- Graduate degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, Criminology, Intelligence Analysis, or related/equivalent experience preferred.
years of experience in Geospatial Intelligence Analysis, Criminal Intelligence Analysis, Law Enforcement, Financial Services, Information Technology, or Data Analysis is required.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) is required.
- Experience working in a fastpaced environment with tight deadlines, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Must respond to a level and pace of activity, as determined by external events over which they have little control and be able to quickly set priorities to determine the order in which situations need to be handled.
- Is expected to operate with minimum direction and function autonomously in daytoday issues.
- Responsible for the initial response to, and analysis of, geospatial intelligence issues up to and including those which pose a potential risk to the Bank.
- At times will be the sole intelligence representative responsible for production of short turnaround reporting and assessments on threats to the Bank.
