The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff. SD 38, Richmond School District is looking for a District Behavioural Specialist for September 1, 2024.

The District Behaviour Specialist will provide direct support to students with diverse abilities and disabilities requiring Intensive Behavioural Intervention. This position will also provide collaboration, consultation and professional learning for school teams (Teachers, Education Assistants, Administrators).

The District Behaviour Specialist will support students and school teams K-12, under direction from the Director of Instruction Inclusive Learning or designate.

This position requires ongoing communication and the development of relationships within the school and district, as well as with outside organizations and home teams to implement behaviour interventions and therefore requiresflexibility in working hours with meetings occurring out of school time.


All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District's Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Inspired Learners and Strategic Priority 2: Equity and Inclusion.

Other duties and responsibilities may also be assigned as necessary in response to the changing needs of the district.


Expectations and Responsibilities :
provides direct service and support for students requiring behaviour intervention who are enrolled in district-based and regular school programs assists with the development, monitoring, and implementation of individual Positive Behaviour Support plans for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs contributes to the development of Individual Education Plan goals and strategies in the area of behavior and self-regulation assists in the development, monitoring, and implementation of Employee Safety Plans provides consultation and direct support to school teams in developing and implementing effective interventions for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs consults and collaborates with community partners and parents/guardians to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural needs provides educational leadership in areas of individual expertise provides training and in-service to school and district staff (e.g. paraprofessionals, teachers, and principals/vice principals, etc.)

Qualifications :
Master's degree in Inclusive or Special Education/Social Work/Psychology/Behaviour Analysis or equivalent Current B.C.B.A.
