Position Overview:
The Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for defining the next chapter of the Calian communications programs through world-class messaging, storytelling, listening, and monitoring.
This position plays a key role in elevating the Calian brand Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, this will be a highly visible role, interacting regularly with internal stakeholders such as the CEO, CFO, CHRO, other leadership members and with external stakeholders including industry associations and leaders.
Responsibilities:
Together with the SVP, Marketing and Communications, and your team, plan and execute a strategic, comprehensive, and proactive corporate communications program across 5 disciplines: public and media relations, crises communications, corporate social media, internal communications, and executive communications.
Lead Corporate Communication Strategy:
Implement a comprehensive, strategic corporate communication plan that aligns with the organization's objectives and core values driving brand equity and growth with employees and external stakeholders.
Anticipate and manage communications opportunities and risks to nurture and protect Calian's brand by monitoring trends in public opinion and media coverage and analyzing internal and external environments.
Public & Media RelationsWith execution support from the team:
- Develop and lead execution of all external content, including press releases, articles, social media and digital content. Maintain brand voice and brand integrity across all platforms.
- Drive strategic media coverage and media outreach, writing media statements, and talking points
- Establish an editorial calendar that aligns core messaging opportunities, including industry events and key business and program milestones.
- Manage media relations and develop contacts with media, influencers, key events and community leaders
- Partner with internal business leaders, the Mergers & Acquisitions, ESG, Investor Relations and finance teams to develop outstanding content.
- Maintain a current crisis communication plan of action; manage all crisis in close collaboration with relevant departments legal, regulatory and compliance, and act as communications point person should a crisis arise
- Develop messaging framework and templates for various types of crises ensuring consistency and clarity in communications.
- Monitor traditional and social channels for early warning signs of potential crises and provide timely updates.
- Establish protocols for escalation and decisionmaking during crises including clear roles, and responsibilities.
- Conduct postcrises debriefs and reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Take our online presence to the next level and help the company broaden our community by developing an engaging, fresh personality for our social channels, and external web site.
- Establish and evangelize best practices for corporate social media content and engagement. Guide creation of social media playbooks for relevant employee types such as recruiting and business development. This includes guidance for teams joining Calian via acquisition.
- Lead the planning, execution and monitor paid campaigns with strategic targeting/tagging of key influencers and support the team's development of compelling, relevant content.
- Put effective analytics tools in place to measure, monitor and report on media coverage and social engagement results.
- Sponsor the development of an employee advocacy program.
- In partnership with the CHRO, establish and implement a creative, impactful and memorable internal communications plan
- Foster the creation and management of an editorial calendar — for general employee communications, as well as the executive communications to all employees, and key groups of employees
- Seek out ways to secure formal and informal feedback from the distributed employees and contract employees; incorporate feedback into the communications plan and overall communications culture at Calian
