Situated on the shared traditional territories of the x?m?θk??y??m (Musqueam), S?wxwú7mesh (Squamish) and s?lilw?ta? (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations the Vancouver School Board (VSB) is an exciting, progressive, and dynamic school district providing a rich array of educational opportunities for nearly 50,000 learners from kindergarten to adult.

With a yearly budget of approximately $500 million the School District has 110 educational sites and nearly 8,000 employees, represented by 14 bargaining units and exempt staff.

Vancouver schools have an excellent reputation as being diverse and inclusive, and for providing outstanding student
- centered choice programs.


In this pivotal leadership position, you and your principal will spearhead sustainable initiatives that improve student achievement and enhance a safe and caring school culture through your work to implement the District's Education Plan.

You will work with school staff to acknowledge and attend to the differential backgrounds and experiences of those within your school community.

You are an individual that values teamwork, collaboration, curiosity, and has an intense sense of moral courage.

Most importantly, based on research and best practices, you will foster an environment of instructional excellence, where staff thrive in helping students reach their full potential.

Your ability to build relationship will be essential to your success in this position.

As a champion of equity and inclusion, you will help manage student conduct, and draw parents into the school community.

Furthermore, you bring a wide repertoire of skills including a well
- developed sense of organization, effective time and task management, and astute problem solving and conflict resolution. Above all, as an active listener you value stakeholder input, garnered through open and transparent communication.

Along with having completed, or working towards, a Master's Degree in a related field, you hold a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate.

You have a dynamic portfolio of experiences, which you have gained through working in a variety of schools, communities, and roles.

This has not only contributed to your understanding and appreciation for diversity but is exemplified in your daily practice.
