    Role Descriptions

    Experience

    8 years of experience in MQ Middleware to architect, implement, and maintain robust messaging solutions that integrate mission-critical mainframe systems with custom applications. The ideal candidate will be the organization's primary authority on IBM MQ on zOS, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance data exchange between distributed and mainframe environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Architecture and Design

    Design and architect complex, high-volume MQ messaging infrastructures on mainframe (zOS) and distributed platforms, ensuring seamless integration with custom enterprise applications.

    Installation and Configuration

    Lead the installation, configuration, tuning, and upgrading of IBM MQ (including Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, and Clusters) in a zOS environment.

    Integration Expertise

    Provide expert-level support and guidance for integrating new and existing custom applications (developed in Java, .NET, COBOL, etc.) with mainframe systems via MQ messaging.

    Performance Tuning and Monitoring

    Proactively monitor MQ environments for performance bottlenecks and errors, implementing tuning strategies to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and high availability.

    Troubleshooting and Support

    Serve as the final escalation point (L3 support) for complex MQ-related incidents, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues across integrated platforms.

    Security Management

    Implement and manage security configurations, including SSL/TLS, channel authentication, and integration with mainframe security tools like RACF or ACF2.

    Scripting and Automation

    Develop and maintain automation scripts (using JCL, REXX, Python, or Ansible) to manage, monitor, and deploy MQ objects and configurations.
