Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is a Crown corporation responsible for arranging supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
The Role:
As a Facilitator at CLBC, you will represent CLBC as the primary contact for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
- Confirming eligibility for CLBC funded services
- Supporting and facilitating access to generic services, informal support and CLBC funded services and allocation of small targeted amounts of funding
- Providing information about informal community supports, generic services, CLBC services, peer and family support services available
- Responding to crisis situations and resolving problems
- Coordinating services
- Creating and implementing individual support plans, which include informal and formal safeguards
- Assist individuals and families to connect to their community to build on the strengths and assets of the individual
- Assist the individual and their family in identifying the activities and resources required to reach their goals, by supporting the individual to explore their capacity and enhance their ability to make informed decisions
Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Community Living field with children, youth or adults with developmental disabilities and their families
- An equivalent combination of relevant education/experience may be considered
Location:
Utilizing a hybrid working model, this position combines on-site office work with work from home flexibility within BC after passing a 6 month probationary period.
Travel:
Local travel will be required for this role, including some over-night travel
Additional Info:
This is an auxiliary position on the Local/Regional team. Auxiliaries may be hired for project work, or to cover vacancies or leaves of varying lengths.
Term:
Temporary - Anticipated XX hours bi-weekly to XX
Classification/Salary:
Social Program Officer (Growth to R24) / Position starts at $32.46 to $36.44 hourly
