ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER

Your Opportunity


Reporting to the Executive Director,
Environmental Services Manager manages the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to achieve high standards of maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation and provide quality linen service in the Home in accordance with legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints.


Key Responsibilities and Skills:


  • Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance departments.
  • Facilitates department budgets.
  • Maintaining the building (includes equipment, furnishings, and fixtures) in a clean and sanitary good state of repair.
  • Maintaining the external grounds; oversees waste management program for the home.
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient laundering of linen and residents' personal clothing.
  • Responds to callins for Maintenance issues in the building (off hours).
  • Make positive contributions to the home environment that ensure the values of Primacare Living Solutions are maintained.

Job Requirements:


  • Related educational background and experience in environmental services in a longterm care facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidencebased practices related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
  • Successful completion of the Fire Safety Planning Training for Owners and Operators in accordance with Ontario Regulation 150/1
  • Knowledge of the requirements of The Long-Term Care Homes Act, Standards and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the home and more specifically those which affect the fire and general safety and maintenance aspects of the operation.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Screening check completed in the last 6 months.
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in LTC preferred.
  • Proof of full immunization (2 doses) against COVID19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's _Longterm care home COVID19 immunization policy_.

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:


  • Leadership: 2 years (preferred)
  • Facilities maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
Long Term Care: 1 year (preferred)
