About the Role:


As the Business Development Associate you will be targeting Canadian businesses of various sizes and industries who would benefit from choosing Gallagher as their commercial insurance broker.

You will work alongside the National Sales Team to build out targeted campaigns, leveraging best in class data, tools, and resources.

Your role will initially involve booking meetings for senior sales representatives who have the expertise to form legally binding commercial insurance contracts.

The experience you gain in this role will allow you to transition into becoming a Senior Sales Executive where you will manage your own book of business.


How You Will Affect the Business:

  • Help develop sales campaigns leveraging Gallagher's current product and industry expertise in addition to leveraging data to target the ideal client
  • Work to build out a strategic growth plan which includes campaigns to focus on, activity levels required, approaches to engaging prospects, and strategy for pitching clients
  • Track and develop your pipeline within Salesforce, while leveraging tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo
  • Develop sales campaigns leveraging Gallagher's industry expertise in addition to leveraging data to target the ideal client
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement teams in developing sales collateral
  • Collaborate regularly with Senior Sales Executives and Area Presidents to check in on your approach and targets

What Will Make You Successful:


  • Strong understanding of the sales process, both short cycle / small client and long cycle / large client.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with clients/prospects and across levels of the organization.
  • Effective cold calling, utilizing Linkedin, and facetoface networking.
  • Goaloriented, motivated to exceed sales and productivity targets.
  • Ability to work within a strong team while autonomous with deadline projects.

Education and Experience:


  • Secondary School Diploma required, College or University Degree preferred ideally in a business, insurance or related program.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in a fast paced business development role.
  • Active and in good standing Broker's license required, licensing in multiple provinces highly valued.
  • Pursuing or interested in pursuing Broker's License (RIBO), CAIB, CIP or similar insurance designations is considered an asset.
  • Experience working within a CRM (Salesforce or similar).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, WebEx or Conferencing software.

Travel:
As required, approximately 50%.
