Background / Education:
Experience in a leadership position within the automotive manufacturing industry, 5-10 years. The role will be responsible for overseeing all receiving, product storage, and material handling functions.

Developing a material handling strategy and driving continuous improvements with the goal of reducing production downtime and increasing inventory accuracy.

Ensuring all material handling team members within the plant are operating safely in accordance with Tenneco safety regulations and the OOHSA.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee daily activities of the warehouse, including inventory control, space management, logistics, as well as internal material handling throughout production.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy being the primary goals, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
  • Improve inventory accuracy by ensuring all inventory movement transactions are completed with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ensure continuous flow of materials through the plant to support productivity and maintain inventory targets
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, and equipment utilization.
  • Train and manage a warehouse team to solve daytoday operational issues and reach short
- and long-term performance goals.

  • Oversee daily material handling operations, while controlling and managing receiving, product storage and material handling throughout the plant.
  • Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, machinery, and storage racking regularly, and oversee general maintenance as required.
  • Meet regularly with department leaders to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans to increase productivity and reduce material handling downtime.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement.
  • Plan and organize weekly overtime requirements to ensure production is successful.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing during new program launches.
  • Actively participate in and drive continuous improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Performs job duties in line with company policies and assist in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (QS9000/ISO/TS16949/ISO14001) to ensure recertification.
  • Understand and follow all EHS policies.
  • Participate on EHS teams and committees.
  • Other duties as assigned
