Assessment accommodation

THIS PROCESS WILL ONLY BE USED TO STAFF POSITIONS AT HOUSING SERVICES CENTER PETAWAWA. NO POOL WILL BE ESTABLISHED FOR STAFFING AT OTHER LOCATIONS.

Duties:

Management of technical services related to housing, facilities and realty assets under a Housing Services Centre (HSC) including project and contract management, program development, planning, implementation, quality assurance, and the resolution of technical problems affecting the HSC's operations and service delivery.

As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Department's housing infrastructure.

We are a team of 330 federal public servants who work hard to meet the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces families living in DND housing.

We have close to 220 employees at our Housing Services Centres across Canada and 110 employees at our Head Office in Ottawa.

Intent of the process:

The immediate need is to staff one bilingual imperative BBB EG-03 position (or possibly a future EG-04) on an indeterminate (permanent) basis.

This process will only be used to staff positions at Housing Services Center Petawawa.

We invite everyone to apply, as a pool will be established for future permanent and temporary staffing at the Petawawa Housing Services Center for both English and bilingual positions.

EDUCATION (EG-03 and EG-04):

EDU. A secondary school diploma or employerapproved alternatives (see Note).

Note - The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (EG-03 and EG-04):

EX1.

Experience in one of the following:

Renovation of residential singlefamily, semidetached or row housing units.

Conducting inspections and determining maintenance requirements of residential housing or commercial properties.

EXPERIENCE (EG-04 ONLY):

EX2. Experience in property or facility maintenance or project management.

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION (EG-03 and EG-04)

AOC1. Possession of a valid journeyman's certificate in a residential building trade or certification as an engineering technologist or technician.
AOC2. Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber or Plumber/Gasfitter.

ASSET

EXPERIENCE (EG-03 and EG-04):

AEX1. Experience in Project Management.

ASSET

EXPERIENCE (EG-04 ONLY):

AEX2. Supervisory experience.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (EG-03 and EG-04):

Willing and able to travel.
Willing and able to work overtime on an occasional basis.
There is a requirement to limit vacation between the months of May and September
Willing and able to meet the occasional requirement to work in confined areas such as crawl spaces or at heights such as second storey roofs.
