Garneau Manufacturing Inc. an established fabrication company in Morinville is currently looking for a full-time Materials Coordinator.The position is primarily for the day shift, Monday to Friday with a focus on keeping our commitment to provide our customers with the quality they deserve.
Employees must have their own means of transportation.Education, Skills and Experience
- One to three years previous experience working in a Structural Steel Fabrication Shop is an asset.
- Knowledge of Inventory Management of structural steel is required.
- Understanding of the different structural material grade, shape, and size.
- Attention to detail when reviewing structural steel drawings to determine project requirements for ordering and nesting materials.
- Comfortable with project related software while also possessing an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Possessing some mechanical knowledge of shop machines is an asset.
- Ability to effectively manage time, develop priorities and meet all specified deadlines.
- Must have a 'safety first' attitude in and out of the shop.
Specific Duties:
- Work with shop personnel to ensure steel and associated consumables are ordered on a timely basis, following all of Garneau's purchasing procedures.
- Track status of purchase orders and deliveries to inform the Project Manager immediately of any delays or back orders.
- Work with CNC operators to ensure shop drawings are complete prior to project commencement.
- Complete material cut sheets prior to project start point.
- Compile document submissions to and from clients, liaise with Project Manager to manage document requirements for Garneau and the customer.
- Liaise with shop/yard staff regarding storage locations and material flow to ensure inventory locations coincide with shop schedules.
- Maintain the inventory management system to ensure accurate records. This task includes processing inventory transfers and leading quarterly/annual inventory counts.
- Ensure goods shipped are as ordered by the client and that the proper documentation accompanies the shipment (MTRs, Shipping Bills).
