About the Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Manager for Recovery Support Centre Mental Health & Addictions, the Community Outreach Worker will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for providing a wide range of clinical services to individuals including: screening, assessment, individual counselling, treatment planning, discharge planning, crisis intervention, group programming, case management/navigation and consultation.

The Community Outreach Worker will need to be knowledgeable and highly skilled in the utilization of harm reduction, recovery models and the psychosocial rehabilitation model (PSR).


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work (NSCSW)
  • One year (post BSW) related clinical experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
  • Previous experience working in mental health & addictions preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to use a client/familycentered approach
  • Familiarity with various evidencebased treatment approaches for use with people with severe and persistent mental illness. such as Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Motivational Interviewing
  • Demonstrated experience with group facilitation
  • Ability to complete biopsychosocial assessments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be considered an asset
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined selforganization
  • Demonstrated comfort and skills working collaboratively with community partners
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:


  • Permanent Full Time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $41.80 hourly
