The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial operations of the business and is accountable for the planning, implementation and control of all financial-related activities and the development of future financial and operational strategies.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Evolve the financial strategy of the organization to drive Ipsos' growth plan alongside the CEO, Canada & CFO, North America
  • Work with CEO, Canada and the business leads to ensure that commercial targets have been met/exceeded and profitability is maximized
  • Play an active role as an executive member of the Canadian Steering Group and formulate the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Catalyse behaviors to execute strategic and financial objectives across the organization as a highly visible executive role model of Ipsos Canada
  • Lead and proactively manage an effective relationship with the Group Finance Team and global headquarters based in Paris, including overseeing, and delivering on group reporting requirements in a timely and communicative manner
  • Proactively report on leading indicators of financial performance to guide decision making i.e., pipeline monitoring, growth trends etc
  • Progress and lead a fit for purpose finance function that balances capabilities, costs and service levels whilst delivering operational best practices that strictly adhere to regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
  • Act as guardian of the organisation's assets which includes overseeing financial and tax strategies/issues, liaising with external advisers, management of all property related issues and ensuring that the annual cash target is achieved through effective cash management
  • Prepare and manage regular reporting of business performance to ensure achievement of annual budget including quarterly best estimates and monthly reporting to both North American Management and Paris headquarters monthly reporting of business performance and ensure achievement of annual budget
  • Review major commercial contract pricing a provide finance/procurement support on several global clients
  • Develop a strong internal control framework and make sure that it is fully implemented throughout Ipsos Canada
  • Work with COO on all property related issues (leases, rent reviews, subleases, dilaps);
  • Oversee all transactions and processing systems. Supervision of payroll.

What success in this role looks like:

  • Displaying clear operating controls of costs and expenses within Ipsos Canada including the ability to budget and forecast those costs effectively
  • Help ensure that Ipsos Canada meets certain objectives with respect to the generation of Free Cash Flow, and driving toward certain profitability metrics
  • Lead and develop the Ipsos Canada finance and accounting teams to ensure that they assist you in properly achieving our objectives.

  • Experience in senior financial leadership roles within B2B/professional services organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to make and implement crucial recommendations
  • Chartered accountancy qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree required ideally in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
