The role is a 16-month position - May 6, August 29, 2025


ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Perform EMC/RFI/Safety validation tests, debug tests, and write internal test reports.
  • Assist in EMC certification with Third Party test Labs.
  • Work with EMC/RFI/Safety architects to support their Product Validation and Certification needs.
  • Collaborate with ASIC Program/Platform management teams to define dependencies, deliverables and, if required, contingencies on AMD Product Compliance Tests.
  • Perform design work to meet EMC, Safety and RFI requirements on AMD products to include schematic, layout, PCB Stackup and component placement reviews.
  • Work with EMC/RFI/Safety architects to develop ASIC and Platform Design guidelines and test procedures to support validation and compliance tests.
  • Support EMC/RFI Architects on their EMI/RFI simulation needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with schematics, layout and basic analog/digital circuit analysis.
  • Familiarity with hardware lab tools, and other common lab equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, signal generators, spectrum analyzer, test receivers etc.).
  • Familiarity with PLM tools (e.g. Agile etc.), PCB layout tools (e.g. Cadence PCB Reviewer etc.) Signal Integrity/Electromagnetic Compatibility Analysis tools (ANSOFT HFSS, ANSOFT SI-Wave, etc.) and CAD Layout tools (e.g. Solidworks, eDrawings etc).
  • Strong computer skills with PC troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to solder and experience in board/platform level rework.
  • Must be a selfmotivated contributor and a strong team player to support optimal team performance.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Having a car and a driver's license would be a plus for travels to external labs.
