Under the direction of the Materials Coordinator, you will operate and maintain a diesel Highway Tractor with a G.V.W up to 62,500
kg used to transport Manitoba Hydro materials and equipment and be responsible to perform various warehousing duties.


_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Operate a diesel highway tractortrailer with a G.V.W up to 62,500 kg, with a truckmounted hydraulic crane in accordance
with the Highway Traffic Act and Manitoba Hydro standards and policies.

  • Responsible for the loading, securing, blocking, bracing, transporting, delivery, and offloading of material, poles, and
equipment as directed.

  • This position is not limited to operating diesel highway tractor. Operation of other OD construction related equipment in work
area may be required.

  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance of equipment including diesel otors, air brake/air ride systems, various other
tools, and equipment appropriate to Manitoba Hydro Fleet Standards and Corporate Policy.

  • Required to keep accurate records of activities, work completed, weights, hours, daily journals, bills of lading and maintain
Motor

Vehicle Operators Daily Log Per:
Highway Traffic Act.

  • Required to drive on all types of roads under extreme conditions.
  • Complete all required Operator Driver training.
  • Must be familiar with the duties of warehousing and will be expected to perform Storekeeper duties as directed. Duties will
include but are not limited to; completing goods receipt of material compliant with Corporate standards and specifications,
according to instruction or schedule, pick, pack, prepare (palletize/containerize) and securely seal material, equipment and
supplies in a logical order for shipping to various Corporate locations.

  • Ensure all required documentation; Bills of Lading, packing lists, hazardous material placards and Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS), special material handling instructions are prepared and included with shipments in compliance with all applicable
regulations and legislation.


_ Qualifications:
_


  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Class 1 Driver's Licence, c/w airbrake endorsement.
  • Possess certification for Truck Mounted Crane and forklift operation.
  • Possess or will be required to obtain a Manitoba Hydro Equipment Operator's Permit appropriate to the equipment to be

- operated.
  • Two years of related experience in the operation of highway tractors with knowledge and expertise in
- moving Manitoba Hydro materials and equipment on various trailers.
  • Must be willing to complete the OD training program
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision. Familiar with and adhere to Manitoba Hydro Life Saving Rules, must be able to

  • Required to be certified in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazard Material Information System
(WHMIS), and First Aid.

  • Available to move equipment for storm response anywhere in the province.
  • Have the ability to work harmoniously and cooperate with fellow employees.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of an OD 3.

_ Salary Range_
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $26.12-$34.84 Hourly,
$50,059.36-$66,753.96 Annually.
