Managing Consultant - Toronto, Canada - People Corporation
Description
We are seeking a Managing Consultant to join our team in Toronto.
The Managing Consultant's primary responsibility will be to retain and grow relationships for an assigned block of group benefits clients.
They will be committed to understanding our client needs and work in collaboration with supporting teams to unlock opportunities to identify products and solutions that will enhance their benefits journey.
The Managing Consultant will:
- Set strategic consulting plan for client relationship
- Identify cross sell opportunities that add value for our clients
- Review plan performance and client files to understand the claims experience
- Prepare market specifications for clients using both internal and external quoting systems
- Analyze data and multiple carrier proposals, prepare cost comparisons, facilitate finalist presentations as required and make recommendations related to the best option for the client
- Perform ad hoc investigations of claims data in order to explain trends to client
- Work in collaboration with analyst and underwriting for client renewals, reporting and reviews, and creating commentary that is presented to clients
- Provide technical and peer review work for the analysts and other associates
- Coordinate new business implementation
- Prepare documents for client presentations and meet in person to deliver client information
- Support working relationships with Plan Sponsors, Plan Administrators and Representatives
- Reach across the organization to leverage expertise and relationships for clients concerns or upsell/cross sell opportunities
- Track ongoing work, update workflow systems regularly and as necessary
To be successful
as a Managing Consultant
with People Corporation, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) relevant to Commerce or Business Administration
- Minimum 5 years' experience in group benefits in a client facing role
- Understanding of the group benefits industry including funding arrangements
- A Life license is required
- A customer serviceoriented mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment
- To be selfmotivated and able to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency and comfort working with multichannel technology
- Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle
years experience in the group benefits industry in a client facing role
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of the group benefits industry including funding arrangements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet client and internal needs
- Excellent reasoning, judgment and decisionmaking abilities
- Good verbal and conflict resolution skills, and very good written and listening skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- GBA or CEBS designation considered an asset
