Job Overview


Reporting to the Selkirk Grille Manager, the Selkirk Grille Server provides exemplary service to guests of the Selkirk Grille and will pride yourself in exceeding their dining expectations by contributing to a culinary experience of the utmost quality, consistency and imagination.


Responsibilities

  • Waits on tables in section as assigned and provides outstanding customer service by being attentive and sensitive to guests' needs
  • Works together with kitchen staff and other front of house staff to ensure efficient service and is knowledgeable of menus and special features
  • Opens and closes the assigned station, processes all orders and sales through the POS system; tabulates and presents customers with accurate bills in a timely manner
  • Completion of all industry standard restaurant side duties as required
  • Ability to help with support roles such as hosting, bartending, food running as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Alberta ProServe certification
  • Previous experience in a casual upscale dining environment and good organizational and interpersonal skills, together with a strong customer service orientation
  • A high level of tact and sensitivity when dealing with customers, as well as good verbal communication skills; must be able to work in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment and focus attention on guest needs
  • Basic wine knowledge is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of OpenTable is considered an asset.

Special Clothing and Equipment

  • Appropriate costuming will be provided by Heritage Park
  • Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.

Special Working Conditions

  • This position will require the incumbent to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods and requires work in nonclimatecontrolled environments

Hours of Work

  • This position requires afternoon and evening availability including but not limited to Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays;
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays is required.
