Position Overview


Under the supervision of the Program Director, the research assistant will support the operations team in the development of evidence informed community resources within women's cardiovascular health.


Examples of tasks will include:
literature scanning, writing and resource development (pamphlets, handouts, etc.)..

This position will work closely with other members on the team.

Work may be repetitive at times.

Work hours may vary when required to reach changing deadlines, workloads and priorities in a dynamic research environment. This position will work for 14-21 hours per week, with flexibility in the schedule.

This is a recurring part-time position. Recurring part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.


Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Completes a literature review on existing lay-audience resources within women's cardiovascular health
  • Development and writing of community resources for women's cardiovascular health
  • As the variety of work in the position shifts, the applicant must be able to work independently, and collaboratively while demonstrating consideration and respect when dealing with all patients, students, staff and team members
  • May include work driven by both internal and external deadlines
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Assist team members and other researchers as needed
  • Filing
  • Administrative duties may include: organizing and filing of confidential study records and computer technical support
  • Other work as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Must be registered in academic studies in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Bachelor level training will be considered as an asset
  • Experience within a clinical trial research setting considered an asset
  • Experience managing competing priorities
  • Strong collaborative and problemsolving skills
  • Must be open to learning and development and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments
  • Strong and effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, verbally and written
  • Quick learner
  • Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
