We are seeking:


Finance Administrative Assistant - Canada Summer Jobs

Full-Time Contract position - 8 Weeks (35h/week)

What will be your role?
This position is responsible for accounts payable and general administration in the Finance department. The position also assists other teams and departments within the organization.


Key tasks and responsibilities of the role:

  • Processing, coding and entering Accounts Receivable invoices
  • Following up delinquent accounts
  • Entering posting and reconciling Accounts Payable batches
  • Researching and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors
  • Updating and reconciling subledger to GL
  • Assist in some payrolltime entry functions
  • Assisting other departments and facilities management
  • Special projects and analysis

Desired Qualifications:


  • You have relevant post secondary school education/training combined with some practical experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to articulate and communicate to various internal and external sources
  • Intermediate skills within a Windows environment for all Microsoft office products including SharePoint, Excel and other software as needed
  • Must be able to communicate and document in an effective, timely and efficient manner with clients
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deal with multiple priorities is a requirement
  • You are a strong team player and can work effectively under pressure, adhering to deadlines
  • Adaptable in learning new process, software and other tools in a changing environment
  • Proven organizational and effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with an emphasis on accountability and continuous quality improvement
  • Satisfactory completion of technical skills testing requirement for the position (MS outlook, excel, word and typing test)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an efficient manner

As this role is being funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, the following are eligibility requirements:

  • You are between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible)
  • You are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
  • You have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
