The Alex Community Health Centre improves quality of life in our communities through a comprehensive model of healthcare.
Our focus is on prevention, and our team of professionals work hard to step in before long-term interventions are needed, giving preventative care in a welcoming, easy to access environment.
The Evaluation Assistant reports to and receives direction from the Manager, Evaluation and Impact. The position will require involvement in multiple evaluation tasks. Peak periods of the year are stressful due to high volume of work and competing demands. This is a full-time, permanent position.What you will do:
Responsible for performing a range of evaluation and data collection and management tasks including, but not limited to:
- Quantitative and qualitative evaluation design and implementation
- Data management, cleaning, analysis, interpretation, and presentation
- Reports to funders and other stakeholders
- Literature and research reviews
What you will bring:
- Graduate degree in the social sciences, public health, or a related field is required Minimum three years' experience with quantitative project evaluation
- Familiarity with the social determinants of health and vulnerable populations
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative evaluations
- Experience completing literature reviews
- Experience as an evaluation assistant or associate
- Data management and analysis skills required, with strong competence in SPSS and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required
- Good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy
- Ability to receive direction and to collaborate with others to achieve agreed upon goals
- Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork
- Ability to work in a changing, sometimes stressful work environment
- A satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record clearance and a child welfare intervention check are required
- Knowledge of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC) 94 Calls to Action is an asset
Working Environment:
- Main Office nd Avenue SE
- 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week)
- Standard hours 8:30am 4:30pm Monday-Friday, some flexibility available
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
