The Skilled Handy Person assists Management with day-to-day tasks on various project sites. They must have good physical strength and endurance to support their team members.The General labourer must also have the ability to operate any necessary power tools, have ability to concentrate on their tasks, and understand and communicate essential information to their senior team members.
We are looking for a talented and hardworking individual who is excited about working for a growing company with a focus on quality and customer service who can help us work as a team to achieve and exceed the expectations of our clientsResponsibilities:
- Assist and follow the instruction of the Site Supervisor to perform daytoday construction tasks
- Maintain established safety rules and a clean and organized worksite
- Be a positive and professional ambassador of the company on site at all times
- Ensure all garbage is collected and properly disposed of
- Load/unload supplies, materials, equipment, and machinery on jobsite
- Prepare jobsites for production by installing floor protection and poly wrap
- Post any warning/cautionary signs
- Report any issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
- Submit progress logs of work completed on site via CoConstruct
- Additional light handy work as necessary
Qualifications:
- Punctual
- Organizational skills
- Experience in residential construction with framing, insulating, taping and sanding priming, trimwork, window & door install, tile, and hardwood flooring is an asset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, and/or as a team
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Must have a valid 'G' Driver's License + a reliable vehicle to commute to and from work
- Knowledge of CoConstruct is an asset
- Good working knowledge of tools
