In this Position...
Under minimal supervision perform a variety of chemical, metallurgical and physical tests and analysis of plant processes, products, and purchased materials to ensure conformance to established standards and/or deviations. Successful candidate for this role will be a member of the Salary Bargaining Unit-Local 240.

Education: University Undergraduate Degree, College Diploma or Higher Education in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Biology or Engineering..
Experience:
- Prior laboratory or technical experience is an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook and Excel.

The expected monthly pay range for this position is $8, $9,755.00.

What you'll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Testing includes items such as crankshaft heat treat pattern evaluation, collection, and analysis of metal working fluids from machining areas, part cleanliness testing, PTWA adhesion testing, RTV adhesion testing, etc.
- Evaluate test results; investigate problems and promptly report conclusions and recommendations to applicable plant personnel.
- Provide advice and assistance of a chemical or metallurgical nature to plant and supplier personnel relative to processes, materials and manufacturing equipment including investigation of in-plant and warranty material failures.
- Prepare and maintain records and distribute special or routine reports, outlining analytical results for use of plant and division staff.
- Determine laboratory testing methods, established test frequencies, and assist, as required the development of new testing methods, testing cycles, etc.
- Write and maintain laboratory testing procedures, verify, calibrate and maintain lab equipment, obtain quotes, purchase supplies, write procedures and maintain documentation and records according to established standards.
- Job requires performance of physical work involving lifting of parts / fixtures, securing of bolts, handles, knobs etc., bending / reaching to facilitate equipment set-up as well as handling of delicate work involving small particles, filters, and microscopic specimens.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as required.
- Job location can vary anywhere across Windsor site (Essex Engine, Windsor Engine / Annex) from day to day as required.
