    Description

    We are in search of mechanically inclined Production Technicians for a full time position located in Vancouver

    Job Description:

    • You will be helping manufacture HVAC Units in a manufacturing facility.
    • This person will be given an assignment and a station to work on the unit from start to finish.
    • Each assignment could take 1-7 days depending on the size/scale.
    • Units range from small (size of a microwave) to large (size of a photobooth).
    • The work will be very independent and will be self managing their day.

    Typical assignment will look like:

    • Assigned to a work space (spaces are called cells)
    • Given schematics of the unit
    • Pick pieces needed from the stock supplies
    • Begin building the outer units from scratch
    • Continue to build the units until completion

    Types of tasks that could be involved in an assignment:

    • Using hand/power tools (ex. drills, hand saw to cut materials to size etc.)
    • Mechanical assembly of outer shells of unit
    • Electrical assembly of controls
    • Inserting of core cell into unit (fuel cell that gives the unit power)
    • Documentation of progress/steps
    • Both repetitive and non repetitive tasks but the overall job is not repetitive
    • Using both standard and non standard widgets and pieces
    • Lifting/carrying insulated panels (alone or with a partner) to their work station

    Qualifications:

    • 1 year minimum mechanical assembly experience
    • Experience using hand and power tools
    • Good English communication - written, understanding, spoken
    • Able to lift 50lbs

    Nice to Have Experience:

    • Experience working in environments using 5s, Lean manufacturing, Kaizer
    • 5+ years mechanical manufacturing background
    • Subassembly experience
    • Forklift experience
    • First aid ticket

    Work Environment:

    • New facility
    • Industrial space, but clean
    • Sounds of machines operating, but otherwise quiet
    • Room temperature. Lunch/break room is Air conditioned

    PPE:

    • Steel toe boots required
    • Rest of PPE will be provided (vest, ear plugs, gloves, glasses)

    Shift:

    • Monday to Friday, generally morning shift, but have to be available for both
    • AM shift - 7am-3:15pm
    • PM shift - 3pm-11:15pm
    • *OT on Saturdays is common *
    • ****most likely will do training for 4 weeks on mornings, need to be available for either shift. Not rotating schedule but may get asked to do a 4 week afternoon or day shift depending on production schedules****

    Payrate:

    • $22/hour
    • +$1 premium for afternoon shift
