    Sun Life's Contact Centre Infrastructure (CCI) team is looking for a dynamic AWS Developer to join our team on our journey to migrate contact centres to AWS. Sun Life is migrating 60 contact centres across Canada, US and Europe to our new Amazon Contact CCaaS contact centre platform.

    We need eager team members to join the CCI team to assist in our transformation to and adopt the latest contact centre technologies to drive business benefits.

    Job description:

  • Working in a fast-paced, collaborative, hybrid-agile work environment, your developer role will assist in the development migration and operationalizing of services in our environment. Your role will be focused on AWS development and DevOps, and you'll participate with other team members in our Foundation and business squads.
  • Participate in Daily Standups and work with Jira tasks and Confluence to manage your work and share your knowledge of DevOps and AWS services.
  • Development work will be focused on shared Foundation services for our CCaaS offering, using various AWS services in addition to Amazon Connect. Sun life uses a comprehensive integrated framework model for contact centres, built on Lambda and DynamoDB.
  • Your SDLC experience ensures your development is supportable and considers the full support lifecycle – you understand the implications of "". Documentation is key to update information in the CCI Confluence pages, including tools such as Draw.IO and Miro to fully explain your work. Knowledge transfer through demoes and presentations are needed for others working in Operations, and business teams.
  • As a self-starter, you look beyond the immediate ask to consider the options and work with new technologies and a hands-on approach to learning and continuous learning. You're willing to look up information and learn while doing, along with taking formal training. You like to share your knowledge and learn from others.
  • Occasional evening / weekend work may be required to support code migrations.
  • What you need to succeed:

  • As a full-stack professional AWS developer, you're detail oriented and take your craft seriously. You have a strong knowledge of the AWS technology stack. You've been involved in AWS cloud solution builds and have a strong understanding of current AWS services. You've worked in agile development environments using Jira to manage work and backlogs.
  • You understand AWS serverless application design and have very strong working knowledge on Lambda / Python / DynamoDB solution. You have experience working with and developing APIs and integrations with backend source systems.
  • Working experience with DevOps tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD, Maven, SonarQube, Jira, and CDD. Your role includes understanding the process, from designing and building through testing and deployment DevOps pipelines.
  • Sun Life is in a regulated industry and takes client information protection and security very seriously. You need to understand process controls, change management, and security standards.
  • Comfortable leading a team, being part of a team, and working independently. You can speak to technical teams and business partners. You're comfortable walking through demoes and presentations over Teams that includes a mixed technical and business audience.
  • You enjoy contributing to technical and business value conversations and aren't afraid to express your views, while respecting all participants. While enjoying the decision empowerment you're given, you also understand that sometimes decisions are made by others, and we all need to support the decisions.
  • Familiarity with Python, and Java-Script development, CSV and JSON / XML files, as well as the use of AWS Lambda and DynamoDB.
  • Understanding of contact centre environments. Ideally experience with Amazon Connect services.
  • Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of contact centre telephony services including carrier services, particularly with Amazon Connect.
  • Technical degree.
