Position Summary:

The Director owns and is accountable for a portfolio of brands.

By leveraging multiple available levers, including strategy, distribution, in-store excellence, pricing, innovation, and consumer communications, the Director will be challenged to seek balance between topline, bottom-line, and market share for short-term and long-term success.

Success cannot be achieved alone, as the Director will be responsible for coaching a team of brand managers to be a positive, collaborative, high-functioning team.

This role reports into the Head of Brand Management & Commerce Marketing for Conagra Brands Canada and is a member of the extended Canadian leadership team.

Responsibilities:


Yearly Planning and P&L Management**:


  • Lead development of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for portfolio. Oversee the development and execution of plans, including pricing, innovation, media/consumer activations, sales and merchandising tools, and product assortment/distribution.
  • Deliver annual financial targets for assigned brands/portfolios. Manage and deliver on all lines of the P&L (volume, COGS, A&P). Proactively recommend corrective action.
  • Drive revenue growth management activities via integrated margin management and pricing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with and ensure effectiveness of working relationship with Commercial strategy partners to ensure that gotomarket strategy and trade spend effectiveness is being followed and executed.
  • Engage in IBP forecasting process to ensure accurate business planning for financials and production, minimize writeoff, and reduce inventory levels. Coach brand team in development of consumer communications programs from briefing to execution; partner with Shopper Marketing team to marry to instore activations.

Strategic Planning:


  • Own development and refresh of 3year strategic plan, including setting a growth vision and ambition for team to deliver against.
  • Drive prioritization on resources and projects.
  • Coach team in yearly Fully Competitive reviews (situation assessments) to deliver building blocks of strategic plan.
  • Manage Innovation Sr. Brand Manager to oversee product launches that produce the highest possible return on investment. Work closely with consumer insights, category managers, sales, finance, operations, manufacturing, and legal in the development of innovation plans from ideation through gate process and to launch.
  • Establish and provide clear direction to team to ensure initiatives are consistent with brand goals, priorities and strategies to deliver the plan.

Build a High-Functioning, Collaborative, Driven Team

  • Build organizational technical capabilities by providing daytoday coaching and mentoring to brand reports, crossfunctional team and external partners.
  • Lead by example in owning selective projects, demonstrating the Conagra values, and executing with excellence.
  • Establish relationships across the US, international, and Canadian teams.

Qualifications, Education & Experience**:

years experience in Brand management within Consumer Packaged Goods, ideally in Tier 1 food manufacturing.

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a strong plus.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, planning, and communication skills.
  • Successful experience in developing and executing marketing programs, budgeting, brief writing, and production.
  • Proven ability to deliver initiatives that have been realized and contributed significant gains in market share, revenue and volume growth, and operational efficiencies.
