**Program Overview - Workforce Development, Community Programs

The Community Programs Unit (CPU) brings together employment services, workforce development, settlement and language services, youth services and volunteer & mentorship programs.

We provide integrated services to our clients to address the complexities inhibiting employment, settlement and financial wellbeing outcomes more effectively.

The Manager of employer engagement is responsible for the strategy, planning and implementation of WoodGreen's employer engagement strategy, in collaboration with multiple department stakeholders and in partnership with employers.


What You Will Do

  • Lead strategic and operational planning for employer engagement.
  • Develop and deliver a work plan to implement best practice approaches to employer engagement.
  • Foster and secure employer relationships across multiple levels and sectors to build opportunities for ongoing project partnerships.
  • Create labour market, demanddriven strategies, and pathways to employment for client populationspecific groups, in collaboration with population representatives (e.g., client advisory committees, internal stakeholders, external partners).
  • Develop and implement WoodGreen's trades training employment strategy to include longterm planning.
  • Create and monitor approaches to ensure outreach and engagement with employers is focused on clear strategic objectives, purposely recruiting high value employer partners within target sectors.
  • Create a measurement framework for employer engagement in collaboration with WoodGreen's Business Analytics team and other stakeholders.
  • Select performance measures and targets related to employer activities and outcomes.
  • Create dashboards to share and visualize performance data.
  • Manage branding, messaging and communication to employers, partnered with WoodGreen's Marketing and Communication team.
  • Oversee professional development for staff.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders such as WoodGreen's Foundation.
  • Create a key account management program with key account managers overseeing the portfolio of interactions.
  • Ensure data and activity history are complete and up to date in the CRM system.
  • Create a recognition and celebration program for employers for their involvement.
  • Lead and participate in funding initiatives for employment and skills development projects.
  • Contribute to unit planning and evaluation.
  • Represent the unit on internal and external committees as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the antiracism objectives and community development principles of the organization are achieved within the programs.
  • Perform other related duties as required from time to time.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, business or in relevant discipline.
  • 3 + years of experience supervising programs and staff, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • 2 years of direct work experience in the employment services sector.
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship, business development and labour market trends.
  • Experience working in employment programs for vulnerable populations
