Research Technician:


Primary Purpose:
Fibrotic disease represents ~45% of the health care costs in the developed world. The internationally recognized laboratory of Dr.

Leask is works with clinical and industrial partners to develop novel therapeutic approaches to diseases such as scleroderma and melanoma by targeting fibrosis.


Nature of Work:
Dr. Leask requires a casual/part time technical assistant who will assist in genotyping mice. This procedure uses a standardized protocol and involves extracting RNA from mouse tail and conducing polymerase-chain protein extraction.


Experience:
Prior demonstrated expertise in polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based genotyping and maintaining of mouse lines preferred. Prior experience with real-time PCR, histology and Western blotting is extremely helpful.
