Position Overview:


The WRHA is committed to providing a unique career and leadership development opportunity for an individual interested in exploring healthcare administration, strategic decision making, and leadership skills.

To support this commitment a 12-month WRHA Administrative Resident Program has been established.

The incumbent will learn, experience and contribute to finding creative solutions to challenges at the forefront of the healthcare system while also enhancing their personal skills, knowledge and networks across WRHA and partner organizations.


Led by the President and CEO and supported by members of the Executive team, the Administrative Resident will engage in a variety of projects relevant to system-level priorities, providing opportunity to gain leadership experience and contribute to the strategic success of our organization.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of health systemwide projects, make meaningful contributions to the progress and work product of these initiatives and meet the project sponsor's needs.
  • Function as a member of the senior leadership team and participate in leadership forums and relevant meetings.
  • Identify and use internal and external support resources to accomplish work goals.
  • Offer information and perspectives regarding current trends and issues to stimulate new ideas and thinking.
  • Work effectively with multiple stakeholders and staff from across many sites and sectors and including executive, managerial and frontline personnel.
  • Assist in the development of other programs and services as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Current enrollment in or completion of a master's level program, such as business administration, health administration, health sciences, public health or equivalent programs at a recognized Canadian University, required.
  • Preference will be given to individuals currently employed at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority or service partner organizations.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.


Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.

Effective April 1, 2024, Golden West Centennial Lodge will also be part of the WRHA legal entity.
