You're invited to make a difference as a
full time Estate Specialist.

This is a hybrid position.

At Kindred Credit Union, you will be part of cooperative banking that connects values and faith with finances, inspiring peaceful, just, and prosperous communities.


Serving with empathy and compassion, the Estate Specialist will manage the relationship between Kindred and the estate trustee(s) in the disposition of assets of deceased members, and administer estate files maintaining high standards for service, compliance, and control.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Liaises with branch and wealth colleagues to provide a holistic estate experience to members (Estates representatives, beneficiaries, lawyers and accountants) during the life cycle phases of estate notification through to estate settlement.
  • Reviews all newly notified and ongoing estate files and takes appropriate followup.
  • Communicates effectively and in a timely way with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accurately completes transactions and documentation following internal processes and external regulations, while mitigating potential risks.
  • Proactively identifies business development opportunities, including referring estate representatives and beneficiaries to the Wealth team
  • Collaborates in the development of procedures, job aids, process improvement, to ensure efficiency, consistency, transparency, and compliance in work processes.

What to bring

Plus, you bring your qualifications and experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (eg. accounting, finance, business)
  • 34 years of experience in financial services
  • Experience selling mutual funds
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of Ontario legislation relating to wills, power of attorney, trust and estate laws
  • Knowledge of registered accounts, beneficiary/ successor designations, and tax impacts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
