Tasks:
- Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Prepare production and other reports
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other work units
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Provide advice in the area of food preparation and storage, and food safety
- Monitor quality and production levels
- Direct quality control inspections
- Conduct quality audits
Supervision:

- Testers and graders, food and beverage processing
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
- Hazard Analysis and Criticial Control Points (HACCP) Certification
Industrial processes and products experience:
- Quality assurance and control
