THE PUTIN POLITICAL FOOTBALL

Here's a really good example of the difference between the Trumpers and the Dems in America.

The hard core Trumpers, are all screaming that Trump would have stopped Putin in his tracks. Yep, that's what he would have done, and started WWIII in the process.

These Trumpers, like their hero, look at the world through a very superficial prism, meaning they don't think things through, but just spout vague comments about how bad the Democrats are handling this, and never bother to offer any more substance than their criticism.

The fact is the US government and the European allies are handling this in the most sane way possible. They have attacked the Russian leadership where it lives, by freezing assets and bank accounts and severing opportunities for their economy.

This may not be as glamorous as dropping a bomb or two, but in the long run, it will be effective. Soldiers need to be paid, and as soon as they find out there's no money available to do that, things will change. People in Russia need food and clothing and soon the imports will dry up. The lines of credit will dry up too and the small internal protests will grow exponentially.

Russia is basically fucked and Putin knows it. But he is a lunatic and so there is no peace table he will be brought to. The only place he can be brought to is his knees, when the money runs out and the the Russian people run out of patience.

Russia has been isolated from most of the world now. And quite effectively so. This does not mean the Ukrainian people aren't in for a hard time. But it does mean that Putin's resources are now severely limited. And if you think a Trump administration would have gone that route instead of starting WWIII, you really need to brush up on your history and your logic
