Why Frames are Expensive

Why Frames are Expensive

1. The wood must be harvested and milled.
2. Shipped to a wholesaler.
3. One then buys a selection.
4. Expensive cutting tools, saws, chisels etc.
5. Stains, varnish, oils to prepare.
6. Time and Labor to make them.
7. Embellishments (examples)
8. Shipping to consumer.

9. Profit? None. In fact we lose on frames.
