Inch de Jour

As part of my ‘getting back to normal whatever that is’ routine. I like to teach myself a new trick whenever possible. Today I made up my mind to go through my swimming routine totally single handed. This included a number of steps that Heather would usually help me with. But today, I managed the whole process singlehandedly and in the middle of it all I managed 25 lengths at an average of about 12 strokes, one off my pace from 2 summers ago. It feels incredibly good to feel everything coming back. Some things will never be 100% but that’s OK. We’ll figure it out one inch at a time. I’m aiming for 30 lengths this year, so I’m almost there. If we get an Indian summer I may go for 40.
