THE CANADIAN REPORT
(Sunday April 17)

Well it's Easter Sunday. The Covid shot our family dinner
plans all to hell. So instead we decided to do it via the
Interweb. We'll make the dinner and my son will come and
pick up half of it and bring it to his house and we'll hook up
a video feed and pretend we're all eatin’ together.

Other than that it's been pretty slow up here. We did have
a hell of a wind storm on Good Friday. Up at the top of the
street, a rather king sized evergreen blew right over.
Fortunately it blew across the people's lawns and didn't
whack their house. This tree was at least a hundred feet tall
and about six or seven feet around. It was freaky to look at.

Anyway, we're ploddin’ along here, still wearin’ our masks
because the Covid cases are on the rise. No lockdowns or
anything like they're havin’ over in China. You just can't make
assumptions about a bloody plague. It's an equal opportunity
deal that doesn't care about you.

The best thing that happened this past week was that
Russian battleship gettin’ wiped out by the plucky Ukrainians.
The memes were runnin’ hot and heavy after that. Sad that
about 500 Russians didn’t make it off the ship. But this is the
price you pay for invading a democracy and having a loonie
toon at the helm of your country.

The arms shipments will be arriving from the US pretty
soon, along with some personnel to train the Ukrainian
soldiers on their use. | really hope they kick some serious
Russian ass. These Russians are not making war. They are
working on a genocide and it's one of the great sadnesses of
out time that Putin and his nuclear threat and his very
troubled brain are holding the whole world hostage.

They say war is hell. But the bottom line is that war is an
industry and a very profitable one at that. A lot of people in
the arms business will be getting big bonuses after this one is
over. Good old capitalism. Create the demand. Mark up the
supply. And we don't give a shit beyond that.

That's about it from up here. Stay warm. Spring is allegedly
just around the corner. I'll believe that when it happens.
