CPC For October 31

DEAD MAN DOWN (2 SPUDS) PANIC (2 SPUDS) DEAD MAN DOWN is a pretty decent crime thriller about a Hungarian guy (Colin Farrell) who is plotting revenge against a badass crime boss (Terence How- ard), and falls in love with a woman who lives in his building who wants him to kill the guy who smashed into her car and scarred her face. There is a lot of good stuff in this movie, including Calin Farrell's stoic performance. It's pretty gritty, but the shootouts are well done and overall it was interesting for the street level nature of the story. (Prime) PANIC: This is another fairly slow paced character driven movie about a hit man, (William H. Macy) who works for his father, (Donald Sutherland), and has a family and another job. The movie starts with him feeling the pressure of his double life and seeking the help of a shrink. Panic was made in 2001 and what | liked about it was that it didn’t over glamor- ize the whole idea of being a professional killer. So, Mr Macy was a great choice for the role (Prime) Both of these films are not what you would call spectacular.
