A Slow Day On The Quiet Side of The Lake.
Contrary to my better judgement, I ventured out into the world today with its -25 wind chill and blow-you-over gusting winds. Mostly just to warm up up car and keep the battery alive. I went up to the lake on the Port Dalhousie side of the city to one of the better lookouts they have there. There were several cars parked there with people in them drinking their Homestead Bakery coffee, and shootin' the shit.
There was even another even another photographer, with a pretty substantial camera, who might have been from one of the local papers, freezing his butt off like me.
But honestly it was worth the effort. The sky was bright. The puffy clouds were sailing south and west propelled by the good old Polar Vortex that has engulfed most of the continent and and the waves were at least 6 feet high crashing against the shore below, although you can't see it in this shot.
This was probably as cold as I have been in several years. I could feel the wind pounding my forehead like so many tiny hammers, and thought to myself, what an arse you are doing this just to take a picture. But then again. It was something to do on a slow day on the Quiet Side Of The Lake.
