Toastmasters Club & HMC ABUNDANCE

Enis is a great addition to the club and when he speaks about abundance to the club, he represents that very spirit.  There is no congruence between who he actually is and what his message is.  It is not useful to call that authenticity but it is useful to call it flow.  He is passionate about personal development and he has a growth mindset that matches that passion.  Authenticity is a double edge sword that can bring a club backwards to scarcity.

When we voice authentic feeling, sometimes it is better to deal with feelings of frustration and acknowledge feelings of betrayal by inwardly accepting that reality, but then moving on to create an environment of abundance.  This is an intelligent use of the negative, channeled to purpose.  This is not about placing a smile on things that is equivalent to putting lipstick on a pig, or at least this phrase which acknowledges trying to put a bow-tie on stagnant momentum.

Being away from the Monday meeting itself due to a course commitment means that there is one less source of constructive energy to check any dissipating energy.  At the same time it is easy for assertive action to transform into passive-aggressive action and all that means is that one is focused on scarcity rather than abundance and ignoring additive energy and focusing in on energy deductive energy.   With members like Enis, he has energy that can contribute to abundance and this is where my own headspace needs to end being distracted by ex-members who only serve to drain the club of energy, and where not committed to the club to begin with.

There is a time to move on and this Monday it is time to reset the compass and focus on what is working, rather than dwell on what has not worked in the last several weeks, and the strains that focus on what is not working has introduced into the club.  That includes paying for members who have not reciprocated trust, which simply opens the memory banks to prior situations where commitment was not forthcoming.  We cannot get into mind-reading or closed mindsets that take us to an empty place, which is reminding ourselves of the cost of lack of commitment in the last two years.  The future does not equal the past.

Forgiveness, atonement, taking the higher road are emotional responses which move everyone towards abundance and shift and switch away from the road that leads to the creation of scarcity.  There is still ample room for transforming mindset away from dwelling on what isn't working, to move to a group dynamic which leverages the team.  In these things there are tiny tests of personal leadership.  Winning those tiny tests of leadership is not the same thing as disrupted relationships and emotional reaction.  Leadership transcends existence of pettiness.

If other clubs are interested in poaching our members, let them have those members because those clubs operate on a scarcity mindset.  Not only are these concerns not helpful to creating a strong club culture, they become a self-fulfilling prophesy.  The most important part of this weeks theme can recenter the club and make the club fluid again and from there we can learn much about how one leverages decision to facilitate a culture of abundance.  The theme this week really represents a fresh start and step away from apathy and entropy and easy it is to create this soul destroying reality.  The irony is how we can make entropy feel really important :
