Becoming a Part Of the Future... Or No Future in Freelancing at All?

Do I Have What it Takes to Earn a Full Time Income, Just Using My Brain and My Lap Top?

As a "Beginner", )the term most professional freelancers would definitely choose to use (for sure), but no matter which way you choose to put it, and when I say "put it", I am referring to just exactly how the Professionals of the Freelance World, would describe me.  I am the freelancer who is  not yet known to the Freelance society, because I am known as, the “beginner” or “NEWBIE”.  Whatever the flipping term is, there really shouldn't be any prejudice towards me or other writers that are trying just about every tactic known to man, to get themselves even ONE opportunity, just ONE!!  It's that big break that every writer or freelancer is hoping for that will get them actually published.  Perhaps it is their one hope to land their very first client or contract.  Maybe it is a bit of all three.  Who knows?  Well to be completely honest, I can start by telling you that I for ONE, know this feeling more than anyone in the world.  It feels like that BIG opportunity, That One Perspective Client or that ONE, BIG BREAK ,isn't coming at all.  Might as well just grin and bear it right?  So, this will be where I use the term (I hear an awful lot) hurry up and wait! 

For as long as I can remember, whether it be from grade school, at home, in my community while growing up,  I distinctly remember all the grown-ups saying to us kids, “If you want something in life, you gotta work for it, because it is not going to come to you.”  Another term I recall is, “Nothing good in life ever comes easily”. These are the types of quotes I chose to stand by all my years as I grew up.  I can't even count the amount of times I wanted to give up in high school, and even College.  It was HARD WORK.  But I managed to complete both of those Educational nightmares with decent grades.  Mind you, the Certificate in Business Management, never got me any special career, but it taught me how to learn on my own and manage my time well, especially under pressure.  I suppose these are a couple of qualities that I can add to a resume.  

This is where I run into a wall.  My last actual job in the community, was at a retirement home doing Housekeeping and Dietary Aide Full-time.  It was from 2008-2012.  Shortly after that, I had an accident and I refused to go outside because people would stare and point at me.  When I assess it now, My thoughts are: “That's horrible!  It was a really long time ago!”.      I suffered a lower back injury that still keeps me inside 98% of the time. Especially during the winter months.  I found myself extremely LOST for very long time after the accident.  It felt as if my work life was over forever. 

I knew something had to change, but I didn't have a clue where to begin or how an which way I could possibly start.  So I turned to the internet search engine, GOOGLE.  I did my best to use my researching abilities to my advantage and I have tried to learn just about every single way there is to earn money online.  It sound a heck of a lot easier than it is, that's for sure!!  This is not an easy task!!  I have read page after webpage and watched YouTube videos one after another and after another.  The tasks appear to be so tedious and difficult.  Especially if your are not a professional in a specific area of expertise.  I have almost given up at least 50 times.  But, on the other hand, if I give up, I'll definitely be no further ahead; than the day I lost my ability to walk, without assistance.  

Since approximately, 2018-2019, it is almost as if I have had some sort of spiritual awakening.   I mean, I am a Christian and I have been a firm believer in Jesus Christ my entire life.  I don't attend church each and every Sunday, but he is my Lord Jesus and I do my best to do well for others as well as myself.  Even if it means having nothing to offer, except good advice and being able to point them in the right direction, them I am extremely happy to do so.  I have reassessed my lifestyle and I came to the conclusion that there is always someone who can be in a worse position than.  I figured that I should try to use the fact that I have a computer to my advantage by not giving up so easily.  

EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BECOMING FRUSTRATED IS NATURAL.  HOWEVER, GIVING UP  EASILY IS NOT AN OPTION!!

So, I remind myself that I need to use the things I am good at.  Trying to use the facts that:

1) I am great on a computer to my advantage.  (so this fact can either; benefit me and go smoothly and be a SUCCESS, or I can not be noticed by ANYBODY , which will surely end without one single inquiry.  That will make it turnout to be a DISASTER!)

2) I am a whiz on all of the popular Social Media websites.  I know how to navigate each one, as well as interact with the visitors to each site.  I can create Facebook pages , therefore advertise myself as a Facebook Page Creator.  ( But that's just one skill advertised)

3) I can use the fact that I am Certified in MS Word and Excel.  There has to be people that need documents created and spreadsheets for data, right?

These are just 3 skills that I can use to earn money online.  There are videos I can use to create YouTube videos, advertisements, and now that AI is here, these platforms can help me create things like kids storybooks, monthly planners etc.  These simple things can be sold on Amazon and Etsy and eventually my own e-commerce store.  That being said, I think it is safe to say that I have a very fair chance at getting noticed.  Especially, if I post on this blog regularly.

I just have to land myself a few clients.  Then I can build a decent portfolio.
