DR. HOOK: Cover to Cover
Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, shortened from 1975 to Dr. Hook, was an American rock band, formed in Union City, New Jersey. At the height of their success, Dr. Hook was at the top of the charts in 42 countries, collecting 60 gold and platinum singles and albums.
The song, “A Couple More Years”, was written by Shel Silverstein and Dennis Locorriere. It was first recorded and released by Dr. Hook in 1976, both as a single and also included on the album, A Little Bit More.

"A Couple More Years” was subsequently covered by 13 artists including Waylon Jennings, The Statler Brothers, Donna Fargo, Willie Nelson, Johnny Loughrey, Mark Chestnut and Carter Robertson.
Louis (Lou) Allen Rawls (December 1, 1933 – January 6, 2006) was an American recording artist, voice actor, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his singing ability; Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had "the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game".
Lou released more than 60 albums, sold more than 40 million records, and had numerous charting singles, most notably his song "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine". He worked as a television, motion picture, and voice actor. He was also a three-time Grammy-winner, all for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

Jerry Lee Lewis (born September 29, 1935) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and pianist, often known by his nickname, The Killer. He has been described as "rock & roll's first great wild man."
A pioneer of Rock and Roll and Rockabilly music, Lewis made his first recordings in 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis. "Crazy Arms" sold 300,000 copies in the South, but it was his 1957 hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" that shot Lewis to fame worldwide. He followed this with "Great Balls of Fire", "Breathless" and "High School Confidential".

Thanks for listening. See you next time.
