I’d Rather Be Riding My Bike

There’s an election coming up in Canada in the fall. The incumbent Liberal party versus the Conservatives.

Kind of a left brain/right brain election. The Liberals are a basically the creative and humane party. The Conservatives are the cutthroat slaves to big business party. There’s also some splinter group of the Conservatives, more right wing, if that’s possible; The NDP, which is in a state of chaos and; the Green Party, which make the most sense but people are generally too stupid to see that.

So It’s really between the Liberals, which would be Democrats in the US and the Conservatives which would be Republicans.

Earlier this year, there was a ‘scandal’ involving a big construction company called SNC Lavalin that has been breaking the law in places like Libya. They are a nasty bunch, but they represent to the government almost 10 thousand Canadian jobs.

So the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and his peeps put a lot of pressure on the then Attorney General, Jodi Wilson Raybould to, you know, look the other way on this one.

In short, the Liberals, in this instance, acted like the Conservatives.

This all erupted into a bad-ass scandal, which the Conservatives jumped on with all guns blazing, figuring to make up some of their lost political ground from the last election.

Their leader, a little dweeb named Andrew Scheer, with all the personality of a meel worm, has been going on and on about this, and about the other so called scandal that involves a pipeline from the oil Alberta to the west coast.

But instead of offering up any sort of constructive solution to either of these things, they simply seek to put down the government.

The reason they don’t offer constructive solutions is that the Conservatives, like their Republican counterparts in the US, don’t really have any…Because this party has basically morphed into a tool, bought and paid for by and serving the interests of big business in Canada.

The interests of the vast majority of the people in the country are dwarfed by this allegiance.

You can see this in action in Ontario where, through some gigantic brain fart, a useless slug named Doug Ford got elected Conservative premier. Slowly and steadily, he started moving money from many of the programs the former Liberal government had put in place into tax breaks for the people who bought him the election.

And this is exactly what is happening in the US, only on a smaller scale. The people, mostly idiots who are easily brainwashed into hating whoever the right wants them to hate, vote them in and then spend the next 4 years regretting that decision.

The proof is that right now, Doug Ford’s approval rating is an abysmal 24%.

Right now in Canada the polls are showing the federal Conservatives with a lead, because of the way they have managed to re-position the Liberals, mainly due to the two aforementioned issues.

And the people are revving up for another huge brain fart, that will give them nothing but four years of regret.

I’m not the brightest guy on the planet but this is so fucking idiotic and obvious it simply amazes me that even hard core morons can’t see it.

Common sense very much appears to have left the building these days, and politics very much seems to have become all about greed and maintaining some sort of old world status quo, when what is really needed the most is positive change and a much more inclusive approach to government.

I know this is not a voice in the wilderness. But I’m frankly terrified at how bad things have to get out there before people start to wake the fuck up to reality.
