Out of the Dark
Two days ago I arrived home following a “routine” knee replacement surgery.
t hat was after the expected overnight in the hospital turned into 35 days of being incarcerated in the US medical system to include 3 hospital stays, a couple of ambulance transports and way too long in a rehab facility.
My apologies to all of you I think of as my friends here on beBee for not being active.
I had my laptop with me after a time as my daughter flew in from DC to assure I was being taken care of properly. She was there when my Surface starting going bonkers trying to update at its own discretion. She managed to shut down that nonsense but then I was left without a mouse, When I managed to send it to my computer guy on my return home, his terse voicemail message was, “It is a doorstop. I'll copy the hard drive. Let me know when you want me to transfer the data to a new machine.”
Everyone tells me to take my time getting well, to gather my strength and to build my stamina. I think of Jim Murray's return to a more active life as an inspiration.
If I could just get rid of this stomach cold I'd feel a whole lot better.

Ken, Yes. the operation was on the left knee. It was the worst one and since my car has an automatic transmission… Even though I'm using a walker to get around I'm cleared to drive because I'm not taking pain meds!

Renee, I was with you until that perfect physical specimen part. interesting fact though…nearly every medical professional was surprised to learn I'm 80. Most estimated me at mid 60's.

Thanks Franci. I'm less of a night owl these days as REST is a key ingredient in coming out of the dark.

I trust that your operation was on the left knee, Jerry, in which case I'm sure you'll be ‘all right’ soon. 🤣😂🤣

Time is a great healer, if used in the way that best suits your recovery.
In making a ‘speedy’ recovery try not to break the speed limit too often and prolong the recuperation.
I agree Jim is an inspiration to us all in how to cope with life after major surgery.
