Twitter's technical follow limits:
Every account can follow 5,000 users total. Once you’ve followed 5,000 users, there are limits to the number of additional users you can follow. This number is different for each account and is based on your ratio of followers to following; this ratio is not published. Follow limits cannot be lifted by Twitter and everyone is subject to limits, even high profile and API accounts.
Every Twitter account is technically unable to follow more than 1,000 users per day, in addition to the account-based limits above. Please note that this is just a technical limit to prevent egregious abuse from spam accounts.
Accounts are also prohibited from aggressively following other users. Our Follow Limits and Best Practices Page has more information on Twitter’s following rules.Twitter Support & FAQ website, 2017
Seems that many legacy social medias have reached their crystal ceilings these days. LinkedIn limitations and UI UX catastrophic mistakes, Twitter new trend to limit users affinity networking, and all these in the name of spam prevention.

Many partners, prospects and customers are asking me the same questions...do connections, posts , likes, shares, comments are technically requests on a webserver?
At some points does it cost to a company in social media business to keep up with its could infrastructure to bare all these requests growing at exponential speed?

The answer is yes.

oO Google Cloud Platform

0000000
TechCrunch said in summer 2010,

Twitter Seeing 6 Billion API Calls Per Day, 70K Per Second

and that was 7 years ago, can you imagine the workload nowdays...

Twitter had a considerable amount of downtime over the summer due to record usage because of the World Cup, and was forced to cut API limits on Tweet read requests.
Leeana Rao, TechCrunch contributor
How fragile must we consider cloud infrastructure due to budget limitation that under calibrate or estimate the forth coming workloads, and especially when it is due to a single event, are. Imagine what would happen if every day's events affect servers that way. Users activities and reactions cannot be controlled, but the proportion of interactions and real outreach can be limited to avoid downtime. So are we all tweeting on a limited capacity cloud infrastructure ?

So are we expecting to grow our influence on a system that goes the other way around?

The follower base that sponsored tariffs are based on doesn't mean anything anymore. Because you cannot reach Kardashian's followers base size any longer...

I leave the answers or explorations of technical explanations to experts, my point is do not bet on a single horse with no back up plans in hands.

Maybe influencers such as Lance 🐝 Scoular from Australia or David B. Grinberg have an opinion they could share with us?

To have an idea of what a cloud infrastructure could cost to a company, try this experience and calculate with Google Cloud Platform what it would lead to! click here !

Though the exact number of servers was not publicly disclosed, it is estimated that Twitter had between 2,000 and 4,000 servers at that time.

Mazdak Hashemi Twitter's VP of infrastructures and Operations gives a light on The Infrastructure and The Scale...that would probably of interest to Javier 🐝 beBee and Federico 🐝 Álvarez San Martín for the on-going researches in R&D in their innovation room.

Thank you for your responsiveness, as always, Javier 🐝 beBee. I can't reiterate enough how much all users of this platform appreciate your direct engagement with all bees. There's no other social media CEO who comes even close to you -- surely not LI's Jeff Weiner or FB's Mark Zuckerberg. It amazes me how you find the time to be so engaged, especially considering your other priority work and family responsibilities. I'm very confident, Javier, the new platform will be a very big and buzzing success! You and your team deserve high praise for all of the exemplary work on this important project. I think people need to remember that beBee is still in its infancy. We should rejoice in the tremendous accomplishments and progress made thus far to put beBee "on the map" in the competitive and crowded social media space. Just look back at where FB or LI were two years launch. Moreover, to those who appear impatient with the pace of these forthcoming improvements, I would point out that it's much better (for many reasons) to get the job done right, rather than rushing it out prematurely to meet an artificial deadline. Here are three popular sayings to keep in mind: 1) Rome was not built in a day. 2) Good things come to those who wait. 3) Patience is a virtue. Please know, Javier, that you and your team have the full support truest of the brand ambassadors -- to whom you have placed YOUR trust -- as well as countless bees worldwide who love the beBee experience. The buzz continues to grow louder across the globe every day, every week and every month. Vamos!!!

Thanks for the tag, Stephan. I would defer this question to Javier 🐝 beBee because they likely have a better internal perspective on beBee's overall communications strategy than I do. However, with that said, my suggestion is to emphasize and reiterate the following: 1) beBee strives to maximize its mobile reach with a "mobile first" approach. 2) beBee's mobile app offers a satisfying and user-friendly experience. 3) Repeat 1 and 2.

I must admit I do not like overt advertising much as I have always built up my brand and clients based on my personality, excellence of service and interpersonal skills esp empathy and good listening. But I do enjoy posting things that interest me on beBee, Pinterest and Twitter. Instagram is yet to come ! I am intrigued to note who responds to which post. Sometimes it's the most unbelievable people ! And I have made connections with people I would never have the chance to meet f2f - even some famous people ! (Javier 🐝 beBee & Juan Imaz) ! I wish I had more time to write blogs as I have a lot of ideas saved as drafts ! My most fav is Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee ! His content is always well structured and prompts great responses from myself and many others. I don't know how you have time to write so much Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee ?

Thank you for saying so stephan metral 🐝 Innovative Brand Ambassador. I have worked with thousands and thousands of people f2f over 30 years of teaching. I am very confident with this and can work with up to 100 people easily depending on the situation. Even so it's very hard for me to e apeople on the iI am very new to Social Media and my closest friends and family don't really use it. I like derstand or get upset so I try to be careful. I have studied nearly 300 hours of Hypnosis and use it with my clients so maybe that's why I like the power Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee

On Twitter I have many followers who are psychologists, psychiatrists, hypnotherapists, mental health organisations & NGOs & businesses both Australia wide & internationally. I have looked at their followers too & have discovered many new mental health organisations that help me in my work esp with referrals to other specific agencies. Surprisingly, a man from USA wrote and asked me about a condition. I researched it and sent him a list including the relevant mental health organisations in his city. I have enjoyed connecting and learnt a lot from this. Not many of them post but hopefully they read mine ! The ones that post, put up good quality content, links to resources, conferences, workshops, mentors etc. I love to travel - so who knows - maybe I can meet some of them one day !

Yup but instead of detecting abusers, they penalize everyone else. It is part of the 1st signs of laziness and obscolescence at medium and long term. users will find a replacement to the 140 limited limitating characters communication tool. everything that goes up ignoring rules of UX...well goes down one day. It is Twitter's right to do so. Hope the best for them ! Meanwhile we adapt and increase our respective know how.
Do you have recommandations for beBee's BA & promoters to apply when suggesting beBee as a new mobile App to adopt? What are your insights a communication/PR professional...Rules of Thumbs, reminders, top 3 essentials ?
A special thanks for Juan Imaz for sharing this productive commented article with its followers.

You are a dedicated bee, and you handle very well the power of suggestion. Incentive to join our swarm on beBee is a delicate task. How not to be perceived as advertsier on the Go and more as caring people sharing an enjoyable and insightful experience with like minded people on beBee. It is one of a challenge isn't Louise ? How not to compare too often benefits vs drawbacks and share experiences that will insipre and tempt people to join? Distributing articles links is one of the many way. So producing new contents on a regular basis is the corner stone of user conversion. The audience choose to read and act, or pass on it. Their free will, but the production and distribution of perceptual attributes like infographics, live buzzes, podcasts, interviews, articles must go on and on every social media possible so Google can spider it, bot them,, and redistribute it in search results. When My TweetPack was introduced i had the chance to be sometimes featured in some retweets, a few time....My insight then was..wow...I felt gravity for the first time...MyTweetPack propelled my twitter account like ..a rocket launch...since twitter wasn't my cup of tea at first sight. Then I became curious and i started to analyse MyTweetPack effects on beBee & related hashtags. Like the moon at midnight or sun at noon, very difficult to ignore the jaw dropping impact. But My use of twitter is very similar to LinkedIn. I select & Funnel. Twitter is a user engagement tool for me...not for social media...I don't have that ambition to become an influencer. But to build relationships and meet insightfull people such as Howard Behar, Former Chairman of Starbuck Coffee and be more influence by his work & dedication to #servantleadership. It helped me a lot to better understand Javier 🐝 beBee personalities and mission here with beBee.

Indeniable potential of MytweetPack for Heavy lifting workload. I will produce an article on it, when my team will have completed its analysis. It is upmost important for the public to have a complete overview of the market's solutions & apps, depending of their intended purpose. While some users wants just to tweet (like Donald J.Trump a famous Twitter's power user ....LOL), some wants to understand twitter's social medias workflows, interactions betweens SM influencers, how to get rid of marketers, scammers, spammers, Twitter's scores/indicators/KPI and how to build a high density followers bases with larger volume outreach and higher users engagements & interactions. My Question was address to John White, MBA the social media's influencer, your top 3 insights for the every day bee user. Like 3 rules of thumbs, a weekly discipline: Unless you wanted to say 1) MyTweetPack 2)MyTweetPack 3)MyTweetPack LOL which is as good as any insights.

John White, MBA as a social media influencer what your top 3 advices would be for the bees?
Matt 🐝 Sweetwood you have a huge US based followers community, what insights can you bring to the conversation?
David 🐝 Martín Alonso How do u manage your twitter follower base? Tell us more about your strategy.
Everyone , a good move is to follow Paul \
I unfollow 100 usless contacts per day not interacting, doing so i got a compensation of +20%. Make room to interactive followers that raise user engagement. My say is to get rid of the dead weight, daily, as a discipline. Within Twitters accordance.

I would tend to say Yes. But many Neyh sayers would claim otherwise. many facts interfere. Such as you will to follow and keep an eye on a specific range of accounts. Some because you like them, so keep a dozen. But really image you are a baker with a small shop would you keep inactive prospects, clients or viewers in your tiny shop buying nothing?

Joyce, download one of the apps, 1st one is good. Start unfollow people that do not follow you and are useless to your information searches. Keep your friends or essential bees. Look for followers bases and followback rates as selective criterions, then watch your account rise with success. Msg me if needed, i will help.

dear David, we are all here for a reason...1st is personal and let's keep it this way...2nd is because we strive for knowledge to share and acquire through users engagements and like minded people...We spread the concept across the globe that #beBee is the right place to live and prosper a happy digital life experience, so few Trolls so many people with affinities! And we all owe that to Juan Imaz.

100 NON FOLLOWERS A DAY KEEP THE TWITTER DOCTOR AWAY....don't worry some better follower will come back, more loyal and sharing...it is like life...your life happens to suck to much according to your wishes standards...you are at the wrong place with the wrong people...CLEAAAAAN them ! And good things will happen again...still sceptical ask Lance 🐝 Scoular extensive experience, he will probably reply personally with a live buzz and thats a hell of an experience.

Paul \ thanks for this cutting edge precision for socialmedias advanced users, for any strategist that wants to get around the twitters cutting edges that is pure "caviar"piece of advice. And for any day to day users that want to keep the faith in social networks and commitment to them, it is a relief that once explained, (bad things) that happens to them are for a reason. social Media much like LIFE itself is made of non-told truth and realities than you 'd better be aware of if you want to proceed further.KUDOS PAUL ! YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR !

Thanks for the mention, Stephan. First, just to clarify, the only influence I really have is over my dog 🐶 to go to the park and for walks. Second, I really like the end of your post regarding using Twitter to promote 🐝🐝 For example, when I get new followers I often respond by thanking them for the follow and suggesting they check out and/or join me on 🐝🐝. Within these tweet replies I always cite the following: @beBee beBee.com and #beBee among other language and related hashtags like #BloggersWanted #PersonalBranding and #smm. For example. I end the reply with a few emojis to demonstrate the platform's global reach 🐝🐝🌎🌍🌏 I think this is a good way to engage new Twitter followers and spread the buzz about 🐝🐝 I also do this for tweets thanking me for being a new top follower or one of the most engaged for that person that week. Third, I haven't really thought much about the technical issues you mention about 5,000 followers, restrictions, etc. as it hasn't been an issue for me. I like the comments on this below by Paul \. I'll give this some more thought as you raise good questions to consider. Thanks again, Stephan 😇🙏 for another interesting and insightful read. Keep buzzing!

Yes, our other twitter professional along with the power users. Many like John White, MBA began by writing on Linkedin, gaining many connections, then branching out and writing for publications IE: HuffPo, Inc.Com, and other online publications. John could fill in the blanks too. I think he may even have an article about it?

Hi stephan metral 🐝 Innovative Brand Ambassador, I wouldn't have gained the following I have in a shorter period of time. Check out MyTweetpack.com Paul is very familiar with twitter limits etc... Even if you post too much in one day, especially if you tag and most of your content comes from the same site, Twitter may take away your tokens. Paul can explain it much better than me but I have to say, you hit peaks and valley's on Twitter. When you gain 4K followers, follow backs are very slow. I'm still going a bit slow at almost 6500 or so, I must have hit another valley. Very observant buzz, thanks!

Hi Ho stephan metral 🐝 Innovative Brand Ambassador Here are my comments as a Live Buzz: https://www.bebee.com/content/1674993/1451740
Thanks franci...the post was about the infrastructure and policy, versus the code...i don't discuss code, because code depends on the philosophy, knowledge and perceptual universe of its creator. And God knows where it goes. Anyway, Twitter was a pionner in instant calibrater 140 char. format. The rest is history and you have 1000 apps around twitter. That create value when Twitter sails straight and do not steer the boat as they seems to do lately. Future will tell us, growth ? Or Plateau and then decrease....
