4In between watching the Astros win their first World Series and the Raptors get their asses handed to them in Denver, I watched the dumpster fire who is the President of the United States pontificating on how their justice systems is a joke and a laughing stock.

Then I watched his Press Secretary deny that that is what he said.

And then I started to get a really strange feeling in my head like i did one time back in the seventies when I took a particularly strong hit of blotter acid and for a while the world seemed like it was actually some place that I couldn't identify.

What's going on in the United States right now is the purest form of insanity that I have seen in quite some time. And I have been observing for quite a while.

The fact that people are still paying any attention to this ignorant fop, after he has done nothing but lie to them for the past two years is what is really making the America a laughing stock.

But when a country has been dumbed down, so effectively, for the last couple of generations this is what you end up with.

The light at the end of the tunnel in all this is the Mueller Investigation, in which the best prosecutorial minds in the country are focused on getting to the bottom of all this. And that’s just what they will do.

And anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows this started off a mess and has grown to surreal proportions as the lies, the treachery, the pathetic attempts at obfuscation and distraction, and the demonization of people who stepped up to enable and encourage this monster continue unabated.

Just watching this backfire on Trump as the walls close in, the indictments pile up and and the blame constantly gets shifted, is a human drama on an epic scale.

We should all just pray that when this is over, the country can come together under a sane government, get back to the business learning to be part of the bigger world and lear from the lessons being taught here, of which there are many.

My sympathies go out to all those Americans that agree with this.

To those who don’t, all I can tell you is that every delusion you carry around in your head will be followed by a series of very rude awakenings

I half wonder if the enquiry rnds ip uncovering something bigger than trump if it should suddenly gind itself the subject of a grand jury? Washington foes love to play complex games.

There are a lot of people who haven;ty given up, Gerry. And there are a lot of disillusioned people who thought they had bet on the right horse. Let's just hope this is all over soon. Jerry Fletcher

Jim, I haven't given up. More than half the voters in this country didn't drink the Kool-Aid. And among those who did a small percentage are starting to come back to life and ask what happened to all the promises. What really concerns me is the day long day in and day out pounding of the conservative AM radio. I listen to understand the perspective but often I have to PBS just to find some sanity.

LMAO! great post Jim Murray, wonderful perspective and I can definitely relate as I often have thoughts comparing "reality" with the sometimes altered states that we've all experienced. But this begs the question; Are you sure that you're not having a flashback? (or maybe we're all having a "collective flashback")

Personally, @Jim Murray, I don't think it took a special investigation to recognize Manafort as a crook. I think Capital Hill has known he's a crook for years. Why he was kept around in the Trump administration is a bit surprising. He was already bad news. So were many of Trump's "choices." And, God, I didn't know blotter acid was still around in the 70s. I remember finding a "green frog" in one of my old coat pockets. I'm pretty sure it was given to me in '69. Maybe I was saving it for Woodstock, forgetting that I was too young to cross the border (and didn't have any ID anyway). Thanks for the memories, Jim. I'd better go check my coat pockets again (I keep jackets way too long).
