The Friend and Foe Within

I do not advocate understanding or following what it is I do because that defeats the purpose of this as a learning journey.   If I am truly learning than to understand me is to try to define a moving target and the dartboard of human existence here would be our need for certainty.  To follow me is an even greater conundrum in terms of a learning journey, because then people are following the past, unless of course I am not learning.  There are the rare soul who on taking a look at my learning journey look dumbfounded and asks others to explain it to them - and the purpose of my learning journey is not to create an existential crisis in others - it is to evolve ever so slowly, sometimes reclaiming what I may have unlearned on the way.

Let me begin with most recent learning - the son of Juani, a Fellow Bee I met on BeBee - instantly his work resonated with me because he is in flow with what he is doing, that much is clear as daylight and something I resonate with, and as an artist he goes by the name PBSR

Before I begun this learning journey I too was enamoured by other people's journey's, today I find those who are actually engaging their own learning journey as that which resonates with me.  Am I follower of Paul or PBSR, no I am not, but it does not take me long to look into the human heart and see the kind of flow that I intuitively recognize - but for me to try to understand it is an unnecessary desire to possess the other.

To simply collect people without knowing why we are doing so is strange to me, especially when the one person whose thoughts we have not collected maybe our very own. If we do collect them, then that very container can become our personal prison - and I am what the Beatles wrote about when they sang about a bird - or at least that is where my learning journey wants to be. How long I can remain free as a bird is dependent on whether I remain free.

This brings me to the Friend and Foe Within - which is the same thing as saying that the first friend we need in our world is to be our own friend - so are we?  It is not important to ask are we? on behalf of others and thus this really means "am I?".  The alternative is the foe within us or in other words, are we our own worst enemy?  How can we even reach the foundation stone of Socrates refrain "To Know Thyself" when at our own foundation we not have the greatest affinity of all - no not to love oneself but know the soil of our own spirit upon which grows our harvest.

Just yesterday I saw a link from Milos Djukic about a research platform called Kudos.  I listened to the 30 minute plus discussion with its founders and within that time it completely reshaped my current state Spectraneuron.  It is not that I am a work-in-progress but like all good little accountants, the present moment is simply a balance sheet of assets and liabilities from which we can determine our equity - not just a sense of worth in our place in the world but our true value - and when we don't know whether we are a friend or a foe to our own given selves then we have lost accounting of our own value.  The one thing I do fail at is doing actual accounts.

Who would have thought that the only balance in life is the mindset of a dull accountant - and my journey is not to become a lion tamer, but simply as a learning journey - where at the most basic level, I have a good handle whether I am my own friend or my own foe.  This is not a judgement, but a simple discernment and a continuous one.  Unleash the accountant within.
