The March of Technology
The March of Technology by "Leonardo Da Vinci".
Leonardo was a technological genius of his time. Many of his inventions have come into reality as modern products. The Helicopter for example.
I am certain he would adopt digital art in a heart beat.
Tip: The program - Corel Painter - doesn't create the painting. It is virtually the same as using traditional brushes, paints, easel, and canvas. The prints are REAL PAINT on canvas.
The Article:
There are those who can’t, or refuse to accept the application of new technology into their world. This debate is currently raging in the Art World.
It's akin to trying to get the Amish to use a telephone, or drive a car.
Remember when we painted on cave walls with animal blood? Chiseled into stone or pressed into soft clay to convey a message? Ten Commandments anyone, anyone?
Oh and then came the motorized potter's wheel to replace the leg swing mamba dance which wore out our shoes. Sacrilege!
Remember painting during the daylight hours only? Then came oil lamps, candles, and holy @#$% electric lighting!
Feather, ink and papyrus (aka paper) was a fun invention. Then some guy named Johannes Gutenberg forced the Church to "lay off" thousands of Monks by inventing his book making machine (aka press).
Books, hmmm… what good are they? People will learn things. Possibly become too literate and realize we’ve been lying to them all along.
Maybe we should just ban them and even burn them, especially if they don’t match our moral standards.
Then someone came along and invented the damn pencil and ballpoint pen. Oh then that wasn't good enough, they had to make the typewriter! Electric ones no less!! Correcto Ribbon? Now that's going to @#$% - ing far.
Computers? WTF are computers?!! Word Processors, no ink, no ribbon, no paper. HOLY !@#$ !!!
Photography, now that will wipe out artists all together! Ok, black and white film is nice, and oh, colour of course!
But how can one take a photograph without film in the camera? Digital you say. Sounds like a computer, those are too heavy to take pictures. Can’t imagine dragging those things around.
Digital paint?! That's it, I'm taking a stand right here, right NOW! No more of these @#$% - ing inventions. How can we keep up?!
Oh come on, giclee prints? Now those things are just too damn close to the real deal. How will people know an original from a print? Will somebody stop this train!
