To Quote Van Morrison: “It’s Time To Get Down To What Is Really Wrong.”

Th gg Ets

; \
\Last Sunday we humped it up to Toronto and had a family gathering. It was the first in a long time that Included everyone in the core mob of us.

During the course of the day I had a chance to talk to my daughter Star, who really does, I believe, possess wisdom beyond her years.

One the things we discussed was my rather long and vicious series of anti-Trump rants. I post these mostly on Facebook, precisely because they are so nasty, and I really don’t want to gum up beBee with this stuff.

During the course of the conversation/lecture, she made the point, and very emphatically that going after Trump and pointing out to people just how huge an asshole he is, is really nothing more than singing to the choir and that if people don’t already know that Trump is completely out of his depth in this job as president, nobody is going to be able to convince them otherwise until the policies he’s initiating start to affect them personally.

She went on to point out that, in her opinion, I could take that energy and use it much more effectively by creating awareness of the people and groups who are being affected by the decisions this now right wing government is making.

As usual, my daughter gave me some real food for thought. And that’s what I have been doing.

As I have thought through this issue, my mind went off in all directions, and it all culminated in a conversation my wife, my sister and I had last night.

The essence of this conversation is posted below. And it’s pretty much a complete observation.

Dear America...

As long as you keep on watching CNN, CNBC
and network news programs who all focus
impeaching the idiot acting as president, you will
continue to miss the point.

The people you should be really concentrating
on are McConnell and Ryan, because these are
the nasty bastards who are selling you down the
river to special interests that don't give a rat's ass
about you.

These two sub-humans control the Congress
and threaten anyone who diverges from the par-
ty line with loss of party campaign funding.

These people are worse than dictators like Putin
and Kim Jung Un, because they are doing all this
under the veil of democracy.

If you get rid of these SOBs you will be amazed
at how much more democratic your so called
democratic process will become.

But they want you to keep focusing on the idiot
Trump, so they can keep on raking in millions
from special interests and passing laws that
basically screw you six ways from Sunday.

Just wait until your so called health care act
passes and the insurance companies and drug
companies jack rates and drug prices up through
the roof.

In the meantime, you're all trying to get rid of
Trump, but all he is is a puppet. Wake up and
smell the coffee.

Start listening to Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth
Warren. They know what's going on. But you
obviously don't because all you hear is what the
bought-and-paid-for mainstream media tell you.

Your Canadian friend, Jim

©There is a strong and growing movement in the US advocating resistance. They are using Trump as the visible target, but as you can see from my love letter to America, I don’t happen to believe that he is anywhere near as important as spraying some heavy duty insecticide on the congressional leaders.

There are many groups of people in America that are being affected by the stupidity of Trump and the greed and hatred that the hard core of the Republican party has for their country.

But I feel that Trump will eventually either be impeached, resign, crack up or be otherwise taken out of the picture. Hopefully then, the media, who seem to be fascinated with him (and I will admit that I was too), will start to focus on the corruption that abounds in the Republican-controlled Congress.

This fascination is an easy thing to indulge in, because, let’s face it, Trump make a very juicy target. But what he is, in point of fact, is nothing more than a human shield drawing fire from the media while the Congress continues to pass laws that divide the country into haves and have-nots.

Jim Murray Acquiring multiple targets to take down the self-interest of the privileged few and the completely cynical mavens of the Republican Party (and I dare say a fair collection of Dems as well) is a sound approach which offers greater potential for change than continue sole focus on the child sitting in the Oval office spewing his pablum all over the Constitution.
