Too Much Trump Will Make You Kick It.

“The honorable thing for me to do, because
everybody hates me except a bunch of
corrupt old rich white men and stupid
regular people, would be to resign. But | am
on a mission to wreck this country and get
my pee tapes back from Putin. Trust me,
when I'm done, you'll know it.”I have been following the antics of Donald Trump for close to 30 years.

The reason that I have been so interested in him is that he was one of those guys who always sounded like he was full of shit, but you didn’t really mind because it was all pretty harmless.

In fact, watching him in action was the thing that got me interested in high functioning psychotics as characters for some of the stuff I was writing at that time.

Trump has been a professional celebrity for all of his adult life. And a pretty interesting and amusing one at that. And he used that celebrity to build his business and turn his name into a household word.

And what could really be a more shining example of the someone grabbing the so called American Dream than that. Famous for being famous. Leveraging that fame into a hit TV series. Then ultimately a couple of runs for president, and finally the big kahuna job.

Somewhere along the line, though, Trump’s relatively harmless bullshit morphed, under the harsh light of political scrutiny, into lies, half truths, and the most innovative of all, alternative facts.

I had a lot of friends on Facebook back in 2015 when his run for the presidency started. I would constantly assure the most frightened and leery of these people that there was no way the American people were short-sighted in sufficient enough numbers to rock the boat that Obama and the Democrats had worked for eight long years to get righted, after the second largest financial crisis in US history.

Boy, was I wrong about that. And it just goes to show you that you can never, ever, underestimate the power of figuring out what people want to hear and then telling it to them over and over and over again.

As I watched Trump campaign and reposition first his Republican competition, of which I thought maybe Jeb Bush had the best chance of coming out on top, and then move on to do the same thing to Hillary Clinton, I thought, Jesus H Christ, this guy fights dirtier than anyone I have ever seen in politics

And I guess that’s what it took. That and a whole bunch of people who allowed themselves to be convinced that a sea change was needed from the current situation, despite the fact that the ‘current’ situation at the time was being admirably managed by the Democrats, who actually understood just how long it takes to recover from a disaster that severe.

But Trump just beat the drum as loud as he could, and the whole world came to realize that America was as prone to being conned by by a great con artist as any country.

I’m not sure what happens to America going forward. Because I sure as hell didn’t see any of this coming. But I do know that Trump inherited a healthy economy, and a country that had the respect of the rest of the world.

How much of the US economy’s continued growth he is really responsible for has to be weighed against all the deregulation he has sanctioned, which will have a powerful adverse effect on the lives of millions of the people he claims to love so much.

But as for the respect of the rest of the world…that’s pretty much all on him, because while the world may still believe that America has a lot going for it, the other thing they are completely convinced of is that it’s now in the hands of an ignorant egomaniacal, lunatic businessman, and that’s not something that inspires any confidence at all.

At the end of of the day, I understand exactly where Donald Trump came from and what he’s trying to do. Because it’s simple. To him the presidency was just another hostile takeover…of a country instead of a company.

And his only true objective is to make that as profitable for him as possible. He doesn’t give a shit about politics. He doesn’t give a flying fuck about who gets hurt by the policies he is creating. All he’s interested in is making it profitable, and when it’s all used up, breaking it into pieces and selling them off.

This is all he knows how to do. This is all he knows how to care about.

More than half of America, and pretty much all the rest of the world knows this. At the end of it all, what you are going to have is the hollowed out shell of a democracy. Because that's t he plan, Stan.

Donald Trump is a corporate raider, and the corporation he raided two years ago is America.

I think that some people believe to disagree with someone it's necessary to be disagreeable.  I tend to take what I call the Nun's response when someone is ranting, swearing etc., is to ignore bad language and respond politely to the message.  That sends the message I like/agree/disagree with what you are trying to say, but not how you are saying/expressing it.

I can only hope, Jim, that the odd few good folks from USA, who I have the pleasure to meet when they come to visit my adopted homeland, eventually rid themselves of this joker in the pack, and return to a full deck dealt with the odds occasionally stacked in their favour. Would that his good riddance were as easy as the banishment of your under-the-rickety-bridge-deviant 'entertainer'. Nevertheless, surely common sense will eventually prevail?

How I do what I do here or anywhere is actually none of your fucking business. If you don't like it go back under the bridge where you can from. You always have that option.
